A new place to call home in Tennant Creek
Tennant Creek has welcomed 6 new units to the community, offering those on the Northern Territory’s social housing waitlist a place to call home.
Built by Blueprint Construction NT, the 1-bedroom units have been designed for individuals seeking a fresh start, whether that be those on low incomes, seeking safe accommodation or a looking for a greater quality of life.
The $3.4M project offered employment and skill development opportunities to community members and saw over 20 percent of the workforce residing directly within Tennant Creek, including both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people.
Our team also worked closely with local suppliers, supporting economic growth and strengthening regional capacity.
Matt Cunningham, Project Manager of Blueprint (NT) Construction, said it’s good for the community when local workers and suppliers are part of the solution.
‘It keeps the benefits right here where they belong.’
This development forms part of a larger $5M program focused on increasing the Territory’s public housing supply in urban areas, ensuring our communities have access to safe and secure accommodation when they need it most.
It also follows the successful completion of 12 new social and affordable homes earlier this year, and 4 1-bedroom units in 2024.
We’re not just investing in housing - we’re investing in the future of Territorians and restoring certainty, security and the lifestyle people deserve.
