Aboriginal Interpreter Forum 2025
The Aboriginal Interpreter Service (AIS) proudly held its first ever interpreter forum.
The 2-day event saw 29 interpreters travel from across the Territory, to Tennant Creek, to participate in a dynamic program of workshops and discussions focused on professional development.
Topics included:
- Leadership
- Resilience and courage
- Managing self
- The impact and value of the AIS
- The art of influence
- Customer focus
- Interpreter support and mental health and wellbeing.
With experience levels ranging from less than 12 months to over 25 years, the forum also provided a valuable opportunity for sharing best practices and addressing common challenges within the profession.
Key highlights included:
- Networking with fellow Interpreters
- Engagement in workshops and group activities
- A memorable grand tour bus that took Darwin participants to Tennant Creek.
