Building bonds in Braitling

Published

Social housing tenants are set to receive a visit from our Urban Tenancy Team who is rolling out a series of community engagement events, aimed at strengthening connections and creating safe spaces for residents to raise concerns, as well as share feedback on how we can support them in building positive environments.

For many residents, the connection they have with our staff is among their longest and strongest. This makes it especially important to foster an environment where tenants feel comfortable discussing maintenance issues and reporting antisocial behaviour. It’s also important they receive opportunities to connect with the team supporting their housing needs.

We recently kicked off the first BBQ event at a seniors complex in Braitling.

Staff from the Urban Housing Tenancy and Repairs and Maintenance teams were on hand to meet tenants, listen to feedback and respond to concerns in person.

13 tenants attended, and others who were unavailable were given the opportunity to share feedback separately. The response was positive, with residents expressing appreciation for the initiative and the chance to speak directly with staff. Several maintenance concerns were addressed on the spot, and the team was able to reassure the community of the department’s ongoing support.

This marks the beginning of a broader effort to create safe, supportive spaces for engagement and collaboration, ensuring residents feel valued in their community.
