Career conversations at Darwin Expo

Published

The Aboriginal Interpreter Service (AIS) recently participated in the 2025 Darwin Careers Expo, where team members Kylie, Bernie, Darrin, and Brenden engaged with the community to discuss job opportunities available within the service.

Visitors stopped by to hear about roles available right across the Territory, including opportunities for Aboriginal language speakers and positions within the Recording and Production team, Training team, Bookings team, and Operations and Administration team.

The event was a great success, bringing in over 1,000 senior students with many expressing a keen interest in the service and its work.

A particular highlight for the team was meeting a student who spoke seven Aboriginal languages - an inspiring reminder of the rich linguistic diversity within our communities.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and connected with our team, it was great to meet to meet so many individuals eager to learn more about careers in interpreting.
