Flying repairs: rapid response in Kintore

Last week, an immediate job - 4-hour timeframe was called in for a public housing property in Kintore, where tenants were experiencing major blockages throughout the house, including drains, toilets, and showers. The situation was made more urgent by visitors in town for a large funeral.
While contractors would normally avoid the community out of respect during sorry business, they consulted with community members who asked that the SDA Plumbing crew still attend. This decision ensured the tenant’s needs came first, with urgent repairs completed quickly.
More than one job done
With their service pod recently stocked with additional stoves, SDA took the opportunity to install replacements at 2 properties, where one tenant was delighted and clapped when the job was finished. The crew also managed another immediate repair received while en route.
Getting there isn’t easy
Responding rapidly in communities like Kintore is no small task. A road trip from Alice Springs can take a full day, with road conditions often slowing travel and damaging vehicles. To meet strict repair timeframes, SDA sometimes fly in crews, as was the case for this job.
