Gilwi homeland project

Eligible organisations are invited to apply for a $2.9M grant from the Northern Territory Government to deliver critical housing and infrastructure upgrades in the Gilwi homeland, located in the Big Rivers Region.


One successful applicant will be awarded the full amount to complete the works, scheduled to start in September 2025.

This project is part of the Homelands Housing and Infrastructure program (HHIP), which is delivering urgent repairs and upgrades in homelands across the Territory.

Projects in the Gilwi homeland have been identified as priority works following consultation with residents, land councils, service providers and Aboriginal Housing NT.

What’s involved

The scope of works include:

  • Housing repairs and infrastructure upgrades
  • Fire and electrical safety upgrades
  • Sanitation and wastewater management system improvements.

Who can apply

Eligible and appropriately accredited organisations are encouraged to apply.
