New homes delivered in Maningrida

Published

Tenants are beginning to move into 4 new public housing homes in Maningrida, following completion by GT Builders Pty Ltd of 2 4-bedroom and 2 5-bedroom houses.

Over 6 months, older dwellings were safely demolished and replaced with larger homes to help ease overcrowding in a community of around 3,000 residents. The project team included 24 workers, with four Aboriginal workers - 2 from Maningrida - contributing on site.

This work was funded through the $4 billion remote housing partnership between the Australian and Northern Territory governments, which aims to halve overcrowding over 10 years. Government partners and the Joint Steering Committee for Remote Housing NT continue to work together to improve housing outcomes for Aboriginal Territorians.

Thank you to everyone involved in planning, delivery and community engagement to bring these homes online.
