Once crowded, now comfortable

Overcrowding is no longer a daily challenge for two families in Minjilang, who now enjoy their own space thanks to recent upgrades.

Adam’s home has been extended from three to four bedrooms, allowing him and his three adult sons to have their own room and personal space. The addition of a bright, enclosed balcony has also provided the family with an additional living area. The home extension has eased pressure and brought a greater quality of life for everyone.

Down the road, Mandy’s family home has also been rebuilt, transforming it from a cramped three-bedroom house into a more spacious five-bedroom home. Overcrowding was a constant challenge, but now her family members each have their own bedroom. This upgrade means more privacy for everyone under the one roof.

Through the Room to Breathe and Capital Works programs, these two upgrades increase the total number of completed homes in Minjilang to 5 – out of a planned 16.

With more home extensions and rebuilds underway, the transformation in Minjilang is not only building homes, but stronger futures for local families.
