Have your say on local government representation in the Territory
Public consultation is now open for the 2026 Northern Territory Local Government Representation Review.
The Local Government Representation Committee has released a discussion paper and supporting consultation materials seeking feedback on whether current local government representation arrangements continue to meet the needs of communities across the Northern Territory.
The review is conducted following each local government periodic general election under the Local Government Act 2019. Feedback is invited from local government councils, community organisations, peak bodies and members of the public.

Submissions close on 2 October 2026.
