Have your say on social housing reforms

The Department of Housing, Local Government and Community Development is seeking feedback on proposed changes to the Residential Tenancies Act 1999 to strengthen responses to anti-social behaviour in social housing.

The proposed reforms aim to support community safety, strengthen tenant accountability and provide clearer processes for social housing landlords, while retaining tenant protections and review rights.

Consultation is open from 5 October until COB on 9 November 2026.
