Strategic Plan 2026-2030

The Department of Housing, Local Government and Community Development Strategic Plan 2026-2030 is our roadmap outlining our strategic objectives, vision, mission, values and who we serve.

Our strategic objectives set a 5-year focus:

• Strengthen our organisation – A strong, connected, capable and culturally responsive organisation.
• Appropriate social housing – A fair and effective social housing system.
• Empowering communities – Strong local voices and community-led development.
• Strategic asset management – A well-managed and sustainable asset base.

Our revised Strategic Plan 2026-2030 PDF (596.0 KB) sharpens and clarifies our objectives and drives these as focused priorities, demonstrating our alignment with NT Government priorities.

Our delivery plans

Our delivery plan is our annual commitment to delivering on our strategic objectives.

The action plan is reviewed and renewed as part of our budget considerations and cycles each financial year. It is the basis of our integrated performance reporting against our strategic objectives.

For 2026-2027, our delivery-focus is on 4 department-wide priorities:

• Strengthen our organisation.
• Public housing reform.
• Empowering the bush.
• Strategic asset management.
